For those looking to gain understanding and validate your progress as your begin the journey to Info Sec, I would encourage taking CompTIA’s Network<\/a>+ and Security+<\/a>. CompTIA provides vendor neutral exams that will test your knowledge in various ways. I mentioned both exams because there are principles of both exam present on each. Meaning you may see some security principles on the Network+ exam and vice versa. You can take the Security+ exam only but it would be beneficial to study for the Network+ as well for a more well rounded approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are well written guides available on Amazon and other book stores that can be used for study material. If your skilled at navigating Youtube University, I’ve heard there is a lot of information there.
